| Listed below are the settings that we have used to connect successfully to the network. The wireless network uses the Netgear WG302 Access Point. It uses both the “b” and “g” wireless standard. Network SSID: PPHNET (all caps) Security: Open (none) Passphrase: Passphrase or password not needed on open systems IP address: Obtain IP address automatically Router IP Range: 192.168.1.101 - 192.168.1.150 Notes: You should turn off all the shared resources on your laptop. Other users may be able to access your resources should you leave them shared. Computers with a static IP address may have trouble getting hooked on to our network. Please make sure to check the properties for your IP address. The vast majority of computers in use today are set to obtain the IP address automatically. Internet security programs such as Norton Internet Security (NIS) and others often interfere with wireless settings differing from your home network. Windows XP Firewall will also at times disrupt wireless communications. You may need to change your settings for our network. It always helps to have the latest updates for your operating system. Windows XP in particular. The security updates for XP are VERY important. Having the latest drivers for your wireless card is also suggested. Network Rules: Feel free to download and upload as much as you want. We want you to use our bandwidth. Remember that you’re in a public place while enjoying our network. We expect every user of our network to respect others in the restaurant by using their computer responsibly. This means offensive material of any kind will not be tolerated. This also applies to sounds and music. Please wear heaphones or mute your speakers so that you won’t disturb others. Anyone abusing these few rules will be tossed off the network permanently. By connecting to our network using the above password you agree to hold the Plantation Pancake House harmless for any data loss or damage to your computer/PDA/cellphone while connected. We do not offer support for getting a connection with our network established.
